This picture makes me think of the movie Robin Hood and the Crusades. I also think of church towers that are depicted in old western movies. It reminds me that God's love is endless and stretches to the ends of the universe. Dear God, I am in awe of your greatness. Help me to be an instrument for you to make a difference each day in my part of the universe.
I feel closer to God in simple chapels than I do in ornate cathedrals. This church in the countryside calls me to worship. I can hear the bell ringing, I can feel the cold, smooth stones on the floors and walls, I imagine sitting here in silence in the presence of God.
Dear God, thank you for coming to me in the places that speak to my soul. Help me to create chapels like this, sacred places, thin places, where you and I can sit in silence and enjoy each others' company.
